Honda has unveiled the Sports Edition of the SP125 in India, based on the disc brake variant and priced slightly higher at Rs 90,567 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Sports Edition primarily stands out with its new graphics, matte-finished exhaust muffler, and two fresh color options. Aesthetically, it closely resembles the standard version. It's offered in two colors: Decent Blue Metallic and Heavy Grey Metallic.
The Honda SP125 Sports Edition packs various features, including LED headlamp, fuel tank shrouds, side-slung exhaust, LED taillamp, and a digital instrument cluster displaying fuel efficiency details, ECO indicator, and gear position indicator. Additional features consist of an engine start/stop switch, combined braking system, piston cooling jet, and side stand cut-off.
Under the hood, the Sports Edition retains the same 123.94cc PGM-FI engine with Enhanced Smart Power (eSP) technology. The air-cooled engine generates 107.2bhp of power at 7,500rpm and 10.9Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm, mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The motorcycle employs telescopic forks at the front and hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear with 5-step adjustability for suspension. Braking is handled by a 240mm front disc and a 130mm rear drum brake. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels fitted with tubeless tires.
Honda is offering a special 10-year warranty package for the Sports Edition (3-year standard and 7-year optional). It competes with the Hero Glamour, Hero Super Splendor, Honda Shine, Bajaj Pulsar NS125, and TVS Raider in the 125cc segment.
