Hero Bikes Discontinued: What’s Next for Xpulse and Xtreme Fans?
Hero MotoCorp, a leading two-wheeler manufacturer, has announced its decision to discontinue the Xpulse 200T and Xtreme 200S models in the Indian market. The decision comes as the company shifts its focus to launching new motorcycles in 2025.
The Xpulse 200T, designed primarily for road use, and the fully-faired Xtreme 200S, built on the Xtreme 200R platform, are being phased out. Both models had received multiple updates over the years but failed to generate significant interest among buyers, leading to declining sales volumes.
The Xpulse 200T, positioned as a more affordable alternative to the off-road-focused Xpulse 200 4V, had a price tag of Rs 1.59 lakh (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the Xtreme 200S was priced at Rs 1.67 lakh (ex-showroom), targeting sportbike enthusiasts.
In response to the discontinuation, Hero MotoCorp has outlined plans to launch several new motorcycles to cater to evolving consumer demands. The upcoming lineup includes:
1. Xtreme 250R – A naked streetfighter designed to appeal to urban riders.
2. XMR 250 – A fully-faired sportbike aimed at performance enthusiasts.
3. Xpulse 210 – An upgraded version of the Xpulse 200 with enhanced off-road capabilities.
4. Xpulse 421 – A powerful off-road model, though its launch date remains undisclosed.
5. Maverick 440 – An updated motorcycle featuring advanced specifications.
Most of these new models are expected to debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in 2025, a platform where Hero aims to strengthen its presence in the premium motorcycle segment.
