Ola Cabs, through its parent company ANI Technologies, is set to enter the quick commerce sector by creating its dark stores—local warehouses designed for faster delivery.

These stores will use automation and robotics to streamline operations and cut down on human labour.

Alongside this, Ola is expected to introduce a Unified Payments Interface (UPI) service for consumers, with more details likely to be revealed at its annual Independence Day event on August 15.

The dark stores will be offered as a service and may use Ola’s electric two-wheelers for deliveries.

They will be available to various businesses, including ONDC sellers and offline brands. This move comes as Ola seeks to capitalise on the quick commerce trend after shutting down its previous service, Ola Dash, in 2022.

With increasing demand for fast delivery, these dark stores aim to improve warehouse efficiency and meet new e-commerce needs.
