Bajaj Unveils World’s First CNG Motorcycle - Freedom 125

Making a crucial shift towards cleaner air, Bajaj, the leading manufacturer of two-wheelers in India, recently unveiled the world's first CNG bike.
According to the official website, riders can reduce their operational costs by 50% with the newly launched Bajaj Freedom bike.
Powered by a 125cc horizontally mounted single-cylinder (air-cooled) engine, the Freedom bike produces 9.5hp at 8,000rpm and 9.7Nm at 6,000rpm.
The versatile motor can operate on both CNG and petrol fuels. The CNG tank, weighing 2 kg, offers an impressive range of 100 km per kg, while the two-liter petrol tank provides a mileage of 64 km per liter. It offers a range of 330 km with both petrol and CNG tanks. The bike achieves a top speed of 90.4 kph on CNG and slightly higher at 93.4 kph on petrol.
To make riding easy, Bajaj made switching between fuel options easy with a switch conveniently located on the left handlebar.
Designed for comfort and stability, the bike features a mono-linked suspension system, ensuring a smooth ride in all conditions.
Currently, it is available in three variants and a variety of colours, including Caribbean Blue, Ebony Black, Cyber White, Racing Red, and Pewter Grey.
Pricing of the Bajaj CNG motorcycle starts at Rs 95,000 for the base variant of the Bajaj CNG motorcycle, reaching up to Rs 1.10 lakh for the top-end model (ex-showroom prices).
Currently, availability is limited to Maharashtra and Gujarat, with only high-end variants offered. Bajaj plans to expand availability to other states starting in August.
The automaker aims to gradually introduce the Freedom bike nationwide in a phased manner.
Other interesting features of the two-wheeler include a fully digital speedometer with Bluetooth connectivity, an efficient LED headlamp, a protective trellis frame, a PESO certified CNG cylinder, linked monoshock and fork sleeves porters.
