After launching the e-tron SUV earlier this year in India, this is Audi's second outing in the EV market space.
The head turner
Both the e-tron GT twins are styled mostly alike, they are coupe like styled four-door EV's. However, unlike the coupes, the sedans get a sharp sloping roofline with a broad shoulder line and low bonnet. Upfront they feature a signature Audi hexagonal shaped grill, the bumper features air curtains which improves aerodynamic efficiency.
The LED taillights have a sort of animated appearance which looks interesting. along the side profile, it gets aggressive creases, a chrome finish on door sills and diamond-cut dual-tone alloy wheels which makes it a head turner.
The inside story
As we move inside the cars, we can primarily say its more of driver concentrated. The instrument panel, which contains the Audi virtual cockpit, draws away from the driver to form an arc, it looks magical. The sporty flat-bottomed steering wheel replete with its multifunction buttons, takes centre stage for the driver. A centre control holding the MMI touch display of 10 inches on top, is leaning towards the pilot.
The driver and the passenger at the front, sit in a low sporty position with the wide centre tunnel running between their seats. At the rear, the seats are foldable and has fine space for adults. Materials used in the interiors are of premium quality and are available in everything from sustainable fabrics here and there to full leather.
Coming to features, there are tons of them primarily speaking, there is a 16-speaker, 710-watt Bang and Olufsen premium sound system as standard, Matrix LED headlights with Audi Laser Lights come as standard on both the cars, the lane departure warning system, cruise control, park assist plus package including a 360 degree cameras etc.
Under the hood
Both the cars are propelled by a dual motor setup, The e-tron GT has a power of 530 hp and 630 Nm of peak torque which makes the car accelerate from 0 - 100 km/hr in a superfast 4.1 seconds, while the 646 bhp and 830 Nm torque motor of RS e-tron, achieves the same feat in a dash of 3.3 seconds. With Adaptive Air suspension you can change the characteristics of the car to make it go from a relaxed GT to a sharp supercar.
The RS e-tron GT and e-tron GT are powered by 83.7kWh and 93.4kWh of Lithium-ion batteries respectively which deliver a range of 401 to 481 km for RS e-tron and 388 to 500 km for the later. Charging these supercars is a breeze, both can be charged with 22kW AC and up to 270kW DC charging. The high-power charging with 800-volt technology peaks to 270 kW charging power which charges the EV's from 5 per cent to 80 per cent in about 22 mins.
