Visakhapatnam Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) has decided to incentivise entrepreneurs across all industrial estates in the State if they produce and refill oxygen. No additional approval fees will be charged, APIIC stated in a tweet. APIIC said it will allow industrial units who want to change their line of activity to medical oxygen production/refilling without levying any additional fees. In such cases land will be restored without any extra amount.

Lanka Sridhar, Advisor to Government on Industries, told Bizz Buzz that the Industries Department as part of its proactive approach is taking all steps to meet oxygen demand in the hospitals following outbreak of second wave of Covid-19 pandemic. APIIC has also urged MSME entrepreneurs to invest in making oxygen concentrators to avail of huge demand in domestic as well as export market. APIIC has also initiated work on establishing seven health city projects around existing industrial estates across the State. Visakhapatnam has the State's first health city project in which corporate hospitals like Apollo and Star Pinnacle and Visakha Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS) developed in an area of 100 acres by the government have come up. The concept health cities will have corporate hospitals, speciality nursing and nursing training institutes, bio-hazard treatment facility, service apartments and other social infrastructure.
