Shriya Pilgaonkar of Mirzapur web series rubbishes adoption rumors about parents Sachin & Supriya Pilgaonkar

Mirzapur actress Shriya Pilgaonkar has stepped forward to address recent rumors circulating about her parentage. Contrary to widespread speculation, Shriya, who is the daughter of renowned actors Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar, firmly stated that she is not adopted.

Speaking out in a recent interview, the talented actress, known for her roles in popular series like Mirzapur and The Broken News, expressed her dismay over the unfounded rumors. She emphasized that there was no truth to the claims suggesting she was adopted.

Dismissing the rumors with resolve, Shriya asserted, "There was a random article that said I was adopted. No, I’m not adopted. There was news going around out of nowhere that my parents had adopted me, and that’s untrue."

Clearly perturbed by the baseless speculation, Shriya further commented, "This is not even something that I need to justify because I’m not going to flash my birth certificate on Instagram to prove my point. But yes, this was amusing as it’s not true, but other than that, no other scandals have been reported about me."

Transitioning the conversation from false rumors to her professional endeavors, Shriya also discussed her upcoming role in the second season of The Broken News. She highlighted the relevance of the series in addressing contemporary issues surrounding news consumption, including the proliferation of fake news and the importance of media literacy.

Shriya elaborated, "This season explores different themes in news reporting that are so relevant. One is fake news and how easy it is for sensationalized stories to spread faster than actual truth and facts."

Returning after a two-year hiatus, the new season of The Broken News promises to delve deeper into the complexities of media landscapes, with a compelling narrative centered around the clash of ideologies between two prominent broadcast news channels.

Directed by Vinay and based on the BBC Studios format ‘Press,’ the show features a stellar cast including Sonali Bendre and Jaideep Ahlawat. With its thought-provoking storyline and stellar performances, the series aims to provoke critical thinking among audiences regarding the authenticity of news sources in today's digital age.
