Shah Rukh Khan set to receive Rs 9 crore refund from Maharashtra Government over bungalow Mannat's land fees

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who was recently seen in ‘Jawan’, could be receiving a significant refund from the Maharashtra government concerning his iconic Mumbai residence, Mannat, located in Bandra.
The actor is expected to get a refund of Rs 9 crore following a calculation error made by the state government. The Maharashtra government is reportedly considering approving SRK's petition for a refund due to an overpayment related to the land where his mansion stands.
Mannat, a sprawling property of 2,446 square meters, was leased by Shah Rukh and his wife, Gauri Khan, in 2001 through a registered agreement. In March 2019, the couple paid 25% of the ready reckoner price, which was approximately Rs 27.50 crore, as per state policy.
However, it appears that the government made an inadvertent error when calculating the conversion fee. The authorities mistakenly based the calculation on the value of the bungalow rather than the land itself, leading to the overpayment. The issue came to light after Shah Rukh Khan discovered the error, prompting the request for a refund.
In other news, an old video of the actor recently resurfaced on social media, where he discussed his encounters with the underworld. He recalled how the mafia tried to manipulate the film industry, backing certain films and pressuring actors to comply. Khan shared how he was once threatened, but emphasized that he chose to confront these challenges with security, overcoming the tough situations.
