After multiple delays, the Telugu action-comedy film Robinhood, featuring Nithin and Sreeleela in lead roles, was released in cinemas today. Fans turned up in large numbers to witness the heist-action entertainer, with social media buzzing with mixed reactions.
Moviegoers shared varied opinions about the film, with some praising its comedic elements while others pointed out its shortcomings.
A fan on X wrote, “Nithiin’s comedy sequences worked well. Fans will enjoy the film in theatres.” Another user commented, “Do not rely on reviews. Despite some flaws, the movie delivers as a commercial entertainer. Nithiin’s comic timing stands out, and Rao Ramesh’s performance is remarkable.”
One more viewer posted, “Initial reactions suggest that the first half is entertaining. Awaiting second-half feedback.” Meanwhile, another user shared, “The film focuses more on comedy than storytelling. Some scenes land well, but the screenplay feels weak. Background music and songs could have been better. David Warner’s cameo was a highlight.”
A celebratory post read, “Hit Kottesam anew,” signaling that the film has connected with a section of the audience.
Directed by Venky Kudumula and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Robinhood is a heist-action comedy. The ensemble cast includes Vennela Kishore, Rajendra Prasad, Devdatta Nage, Shine Tom Chacko, and Mime Gopi. Australian cricketer David Warner makes his Telugu cinema debut with a cameo appearance.
G. V. Prakash Kumar composed the film’s soundtrack, with Sai Sriram handling cinematography and Koti overseeing editing. Sony Music Entertainment India Pvt. Ltd. acquired the film’s audio rights.
Initially slated for a December 25, 2024 release, Robinhood was postponed due to undisclosed reasons. Rashmika Mandanna was originally cast as the female lead but exited due to scheduling conflicts. Reports also suggested that Raashi Khanna was considered for the role.
