'Pushpa 2' to storm US with advance bookings surpassing $300K
The much-anticipated Telugu film Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, is generating significant buzz in the United States ahead of its December 5 release. The film's advance bookings are impressive, with ticket sales already exceeding $300,000. The film is set to release in 606 locations across the US, directly competing with Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava, which releases a day later.
Sequel Anticipation
Pushpa 2 follows the National Award-winning prequel Pushpa: The Rise, released in 2021. The excitement for the sequel is evident in its robust advance booking performance. According to Track BO, the film has already crossed the $300,000 mark in ticket sales. Sacnilk reports that this revenue came from selling over 11,000 tickets across 2,200 shows on premiere day. Alongside Arjun, the film stars Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Jagapathi Babu, and Prakash Raj.
Distribution Deal
Pushpa 2 has set high expectations, especially since distributor Anil Thadani invested nearly ₹200 crore for its North India distribution rights. The first installment, Pushpa: The Rise, earned ₹106 crore from its Hindi version alone and grossed ₹267 crore in India. This sequel is anticipated to continue this box office success, already making ₹1,085 crore from its theatrical and non-theatrical rights.
