The Sukumar film was a box office hit, earning Rs 164.25 crore gross from its opening showing followed by a record-breaking weekend. But the figures were down Monday.
In addition to Arjun and Mandhana, the film also stars Fahadh Faasil, Jagapathi Babu, Dhananjaya, Rao Ramesh, Sunil and Anasuya Bharadwaj in key roles.
Despite being a film costing around Rs 400-500 crore, the movie has collected more than Rs 1062 crore in Pushpa 2 day 8 collection worldwide.
Earnings dropped by 20 per cent on day 6 and 18.53 per cent on day 7, and will remain as such on Thursday too.
Pushpa collection Rs 42 crore on Wednesday, which brings the total collections to Rs 687 crore (India net), according to Sacnilk. The film earned Rs 10.65 crore at its release and Rs 164.25 crore on its first day. This first weekend was a collection bomb as the film grossed Rs 93.8 crore, 119.25 crore, 119.25 crore and 141.05 crore on 2, 3, 4 and 5 respectively.
Pushpa 2 is already a 3 Crores nett film in Bihar which is 1 Crore more than Jawaan or any Hindi film and interiors of Maharashtra, MP and Chattisgarh.
Pushpa box office collection is 25 Lakhs less footfalls than Baahubali 2 in every state of India but won the record for highest ticket price in Telugu.
Pushpa 2 has to dethrone KGF: Chapter 2(Rs 1,215 crore) RRR(Rs 1,230 crore), Jawan(Rs 1,160 crore) Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Rs 1,788.06 crore), and Dangal (2016) (Rs 2,070.3 crore worldwide) as the highest-grossing Indian film of all time.
