Pattudala Box Office: Ajith Kumar’s Film Earns Rs 22 Cr on Day 1

Ajith Kumar and Trisha Krishnan’s latest release, Vidaamuyarchi (titled Pattudala in Telugu), registered a strong opening at the box office. The film, which hit theaters worldwide on February 6, posted an estimated net collection of Rs 22 crore in India on its first day. Official figures for the total gross are yet to be disclosed by the makers.

Theatres across Tamil Nadu recorded strong occupancy for Pattudala on Thursday. The film’s overall occupancy in Tamil Nadu stood at 61.24 per cent, with the morning shows recording 58.81 per cent, afternoon shows 60.27 per cent, and evening screenings at 54.79 per cent. Certain regions, including Trichy (92.00 per cent) and Pondicherry (91.67 per cent), reported higher occupancy rates, while Chennai recorded 88.33 per cent.

With the weekend approaching, industry analysts predict that Pattudala could see a rise in box office numbers. In the overseas market, the film secured the 5th position among Indian films in North America and claimed the top spot in Malaysia.

Comparing its debut performance to Ajith’s previous film, Thunivu, which earned Rs 24.4 crore on its first day in India, Pattudala has seen a slightly lower opening. Despite this, expectations remain high as the film continues its theatrical run.

Directed by Magizh Thirumeni and produced by Lyca Productions, Vidaamuyarchi presents Ajith Kumar in an action-packed role. His portrayal of a character dealing with emotional turmoil and intense action sequences has resonated with audiences. The film revolves around a husband’s relentless pursuit to uncover the truth behind his wife’s mysterious disappearance.
