Fans of the "Spider-Verse" franchise will have to wait longer for the third installment of the animated superhero series. Originally slated for a March 2024 release, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will not hit theaters in 2025 either, according to recent statements from Sony Pictures.

The film, which marks the conclusion of Miles Morales’ journey, is now facing a significant delay. Reports from Deadline indicate that Sony has confirmed there are no current plans for the movie’s release in 2025. The studio, which has been working on the film, stated that the final chapter of the trilogy requires additional care to ensure it meets the high expectations of fans.

This delay comes after previous speculations that the film could be postponed until 2027, though this idea was swiftly dismissed by composer Daniel Pemberton. In a recent statement, Pemberton hinted that online reports regarding the film's timeline might not be entirely accurate, suggesting a bit of confusion around the release date.

The Spider-Verse saga began in 2018 with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which received widespread acclaim for its unique animation style and storytelling.
