Nayanthara Opens Up About Her Decision to Quit Acting and Her Journey to True Love

Nayanthara, one of the biggest stars in South India, was at her peak in the late 2000s. However, in 2011, she shocked her fans by announcing she would quit acting. In a recent interview, Nayanthara explained that she decided to leave the film industry because of advice from her then-partner, Prabhu Deva.

She shared that during a tough time in her life, she believed she had to choose between love and her career. She thought that public relationships, especially those that ended in second marriages, made it seem like love and a career couldn't go together.

Though she didn’t name Prabhu Deva directly, Nayanthara said that her relationship with him was a turning point. She explained that going through that difficult period made her stronger and helped her realize what she was capable of. After their breakup in 2013, she returned to films with *Greeku Veerudhu*.

Nayanthara also talked about her marriage to Vignesh Shivan. She said her views on love changed after meeting him. She used to believe unconditional love didn’t exist, but now she knows it does if you find the right person. Nayanthara and Prabhu Deva dated from 2010 to 2013, but they never married. After their breakup, Nayanthara met Vignesh Shivan while working on the film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in 2015. After dating for seven years, they married on June 9, 2022, and are now parents to twin boys, Uyir and Ulaga, born in October 2022.
