‘Thandel,’ starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, continues its strong run at the box office, performing beyond initial expectations. The film, which opened with a notable start, is maintaining steady momentum and is likely to breach the Rs 50 crore mark within its opening week.
Despite facing competition from Tamil and Hindi films, including 'Vidaamuyarchi' and the re-release of 'Sanam Teri Kasam,' the Telugu film has held firm at the ticket counters.
The film began its theatrical run with an opening collection of Rs 11.5 crore. Over the weekend, collections remained consistent, bringing the total to an estimated Rs 36.5–37.1 crore by the end of Sunday.
Day-wise earnings are as follows:
Day 1 (Friday): Rs 11.5 crore
Day 2 (Saturday): Rs 12.64 crore
Day 3 (Sunday): Rs 12.5–13 crore*(*estimates based on trade reports)
The Sunday earnings showed a marginal increase over Saturday’s numbers, reflecting sustained audience interest.
With strong weekend earnings, attention now shifts to Monday’s performance. A significant drop in collections could impact the film’s long-term success, while a steady hold may reinforce its box office dominance.
Trade analysts suggest that if ‘Thandel’ maintains its current pace, it could emerge as one of Naga Chaitanya’s highest-grossing films. The film’s earnings have already surpassed his reported remuneration of Rs 15 crore, delivering over 2.4 times his fee.
Despite its impressive numbers, ‘Thandel’ remains behind the biggest Telugu releases of 2025. ‘Daaku Maharaaj’ and ‘Sankrantihik Vasthunam’ have already entered the Rs 100 crore club, while ‘Game Changer’ has grossed over Rs 90 crore. Whether ‘Thandel’ can challenge these figures in the coming weeks remains to be seen.
