In a surprising revelation, Divyenndu, the actor who brought the iconic character Munna Bhaiya to life in the hit series Mirzapur, has expressed a long-held desire to star in a horror film as a vampire.
Divyenndu’s portrayal of Munna Bhaiya in Mirzapur has left an indelible mark on his fans, making it hard to imagine him in any other role. However, the actor recently opened up about his aspirations in an interview with PTI, stating, "It has always been my lifelong dream to star in a horror film and play a vampire."
He shared that the essence of acting for him lies in embracing diverse roles and genres without fearing failure or public perception. An alumnus of the Film and Television Institute of India, Divyenndu first gained recognition with his breakout role in the comedy Pyaar Ka Punchnama. He has since been celebrated for his performances in Mirzapur, The Railway Men, and the recent comedy hit Madgaon Express.
Reflecting on his career, Divyenndu acknowledged the pressures that come with success. He has learned to handle these challenges gracefully, emphasizing the importance of enjoying the present and moving forward. He believes that dwelling on past achievements can hinder an artist’s growth. While expressing gratitude for his fans' support, he made it clear that he does not want to be typecast and is eager to take on new and varied roles.
In his upcoming film Agni, Divyenndu plays a police officer named Samit, who is investigating a series of mysterious fire incidents in the city. He is joined by his brother-in-law Vithal, a firefighter, played by Pratik Gandhi. The film also features Sai Tamhankar and Saiyami Khar in significant roles. Directed by Rahul Dholakia, known for his acclaimed works Parzania and Raees, Agni is an action-packed thriller. Produced by Excel Entertainment in collaboration with Prime Video, Agni is set to stream on the platform starting December 6, 2024.
With his eyes set on the horror genre and a desire to portray a vampire, Divyenndu is ready to surprise his audience once again, showcasing his versatility and passion for diverse roles.
