L2: Empuraan’ Box Office Update: Mohanlal Starrer Maintains Momentum, Surpasses ₹33 Crore on Day 2
Despite getting mixed reviewsand mixed reviews "L2: Empuraan', starring Mohanlal and directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran remains on an unbroken streak in the market. The film grossed an estimated Rs 11.75 crore in its second day, bringing the total to 33.25 crore in just two days after its release.

Based on the Sacnilk website the day it premiered (Thursday) the film raked in amount of 21.5 crore in the Malayalam version, and the Malayalam version bringing in Rs 19.1 crore. On day 2 (Friday) the collection dropped of 45.35 percent, which equated to just 11.75 crore. The Malayalam version was still the biggest box office collections with an estimated Rs 10.75 crore however, the film also saw modest revenues for Telugu (Rs 27 lakhs), Tamil (Rs0.3 crore), Kannada (Rs 3 lakhs) as well as Hindi (Rs 40 lakhs).
Occupancy Trends
Malayalam film occupancy was strong, at 46.02 percent, and it had the highest levels of engagement occurring during the evening show (57.69 percent). Other languages experienced much lower occupancy rates including Tamil at 18.27 percent, Telugu at 12.36%, Kannada at 8.21% and Hindi struggling to get 3.86 percent in the morning show and 7.74% in the nighttime.
Sustaining the Momentum
As the weekend approaches and the weekend ahead, L2: Empuraan could get back on track particularly in Kerala. The mixed reviews could impact the future however, Mohanlal's star-power is still a major factor in the film's success. Everyone's eyes are now focused at Day 3 to see if the film will be able to sustain its momentum and surpass the bigger goals. ETimes review of the film reads "Deepak Dev's soundtrack perfectly complements the stunningly rendered scenes; we are immersed in Khureshi's adventures and experience the mood due to this. Sujith Vasudev's camerawork combines the quick and slow scenes perfectly throughout. The actors, like Mohanlal And Manju Warrier, appear as somewhat sluggish.
