Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is recovering after being attacked by an intruder at his Bandra residence late Wednesday night. His wife, actress Kareena Kapoor, issued a public appeal to the media, requesting privacy for their family during this difficult time.

In a statement shared Thursday, Kapoor highlighted the importance of boundaries. “It has been an incredibly challenging day for our family, and we are still trying to process the events that have unfolded. As we navigate this difficult time, I respectfully and humbly request that the media and paparazzi refrain from the relentless speculation and coverage,” she said.

She added that while the family is grateful for the support they have received, the heightened attention poses risks to their safety. “While we appreciate the concern and support, the constant scrutiny and attention are not only overwhelming but also pose a significant risk to our safety. I kindly request that you respect our boundaries and give us the space we need to heal and cope as a family,” Kapoor stated.

The incident unfolded when an unidentified man entered the couple’s home and attacked Khan, leaving him with six stab wounds. One of the injuries, described as severe, involved a knife that became lodged near his spine. Khan was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where emergency surgery was performed.

Medical professionals confirmed that a 2.5-inch fragment of the weapon was successfully removed. Saif’s injuries included two minor, two intermediate, and two deep wounds, with one dangerously close to his neck. Doctors have assured that the actor is out of danger and is on the path to recovery.

In a statement from Khan’s management team, it was revealed that the actor is stable and responding well to treatment. The family has expressed gratitude for the medical team’s swift actions.

Kapoor concluded her statement with a request for understanding and cooperation. “I would like to thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation during this sensitive time,” she said.

The police are investigating the incident, but no further details about the assailant or motive have been disclosed.
