The Moscow International Film Week, held from August 23-28, was met with an enthusiastic reception from Russian cinema enthusiasts. The festival not only celebrated Indian films but also welcomed the Indian film industry to explore Moscow's locations and filmmaking facilities.

Hindi films also made a notable impact at the Moscow International Film Week, which kicked off with the screening of Kiran Rao’s directorial debut, Lapaata Ladies, at the Khudozhestvenny Cinema in Moscow. The grand opening attracted numerous Russian film industry celebrities and saw the presence of Telugu film producers Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt. The Dutt sisters, renowned for their global hit Kalki 2898 AD, were key figures at the event. Additionally, S. S. Rajamouli’s RRR, featuring Ram Charan Tej and NTR Junior, made its mark at the festival with a screening on Saturday. Film producer Dil Raju and other notable figures from the Telugu film industry were also in attendance. The Maharashtra film industry, led by the Ministry of Culture, is organising a range of events, roadshows, cultural programs, and film screenings throughout the week-long celebration of cinema.

The opening ceremony drew government officials, notable film industry figures, and influencers. Among the esteemed guests were the Film Week Ambassadors: actor Milos Bikovic, director and screenwriter Zhora Kryzhovnikov, and actor Nikita Volkov, along with other celebrities. The first day of the festival featured screenings of both international and local films. Attendees had the chance to interact with filmmaking through mobile film sets, where they could record video introductions, attend lectures, and participate in masterclasses with renowned actors.

These activities will continue throughout the film week at various locations across the city. The Moscow International Film Week will span over 100 venues and feature more than 200 distinct events each day, including film screenings, workshops, and creative discussions. Delegations from over 40 countries, comprising government officials and global film industry representatives, are attending the event.
