Shankar’s Telugu debut film, Game Changer, starring Ram Charan, Kiara Advani, Anjali, and SJ Suryah, has crossed the lifetime box office collections of his previous film Indian 2, starring Kamal Haasan. As of 8 pm today, the film has grossed ₹86.34 crore net in India, according to Sacnilk.

On its third day of release, Game Changer brought in ₹13.74 crore, taking its total earnings to ₹86.34 crore. With this, the film has surpassed the ₹81.32 crore net lifetime collection of Indian 2. Despite this achievement, the film has faced a significant drop in collections after its strong opening day. The Sankranthi release made ₹51 crore on Day 1, but on Day 2, it saw a 57.65% decline, collecting just ₹21.6 crore net.

The film’s occupancy also showed a decline, with the Telugu version’s morning shows registering only 18.01% occupancy, while the afternoon shows saw a slightly better 33.22%. This drop in audience turnout is concerning, as Game Changer was expected to perform stronger, especially with the Sankranthi festive period in full swing. Additionally, the film faces competition from other major releases, including Balakrishna’s Daaku Maharaaj and Venkatesh’s Sankranthiki Vasthunam.

Despite mixed reviews since its release, Game Changer tells the story of an IAS officer, Ram Nandan (played by Ram Charan), who confronts corruption in electoral politics. The film’s plot also includes an activist named Appanna and features SJ Suryah as a corrupt politician named Mopidevi.

As the film enters its second week, it remains to be seen whether it can regain momentum and sustain strong box office numbers in the coming days.
