"Feel Monotony": Vikrant Massey clarifies shocking retirement announcement
A day after his surprising announcement of retiring from acting, Vikrant Massey has provided more clarity on his decision. The "12th Fail" actor emphasized that he's not quitting acting but taking a significant break to focus on his health and family.
"Acting is my life. It's given me everything I have," Vikrant shared in his statement. "However, my physical and mental health have suffered. I need some time off to improve my craft and break the monotony I'm currently feeling. My post wasn't about quitting acting entirely. I just need to focus on my family and health. I will return when the time feels right."
Previously, in an interview with News 18, Vikrant said, "I'm not retiring... Just burned out. Need a long break. I miss home, and my health is also suffering... People misread my social media post."
The actor stunned his fans by announcing he would meet them "one last time" in 2025. Shortly after his post, he attended a special screening of his latest film, "The Sabarmati Report," at the Parliament Library with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other ministers. Expressing his delight, Vikrant told the media, "Watching 'The Sabarmati Report' with the Prime Minister is the pinnacle of my career." When questioned about his retirement, Vikrant left without answering.
Vikrant's retirement post sparked widespread speculation. In his post, he wrote, "The past few years have been incredible. I'm grateful for all your support. But it's time to recalibrate and return home as a Husband, Father, and Son, and as an Actor."
He continued, "In 2025, we will meet one last time, until the time feels right. Two more movies and many memories to cherish. Thank you for everything." He ended his note with "forever indebted."
