Fateh Box Office Collection Day 3: Sonu Sood’s Film Sees Modest Growth Despite BOGO Offer, Grosses Rs 6.6 Cr

Sonu Sood's directorial debut, Fateh, opened at the box office on Friday with little buzz and continued its subdued run through the weekend. The film, which stars Sonu in the lead role, is the first Hindi release of 2025 and went up against the highly anticipated Telugu film Game Changer, starring Ram Charan, which also released on the same day. According to Sacnilk, Fateh earned Rs 2.10 crore on Sunday, bringing its total domestic collection to Rs 6.60 crore.

The film started its box office journey with Rs 2.4 crore on opening day. However, despite being a weekend, it saw a 12.50% drop in earnings on Saturday, with Rs 2.1 crore. Ideally, Fateh should have experienced a significant increase in collections over the weekend, but its earnings remained fairly flat, with only a slight rise on Sunday.

This underperformance came despite efforts by the makers to boost sales, including reducing ticket prices to Rs 99 and introducing a special Buy One Get One Free (BOGO) offer on Sunday, which had little effect on the film’s box office performance.

Zee Studios announced the offer on Instagram, accompanied by a poster and the caption, “Samay aa gaya hai, aapke liye power-packed offer ka! Book one ticket and get another one free, offer starts today. Fateh in cinemas now.”

Fateh is encountering strong competition from the Telugu film Game Changer. The clash between these two movies has reignited the ongoing debate about Regional vs Hindi cinema at the box office. While Game Changer’s box office performance lags behind recent regional blockbusters like Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2, it has still significantly outperformed Fateh in several aspects. Despite a weekend drop of over 50%, Game Changer earned Rs 17 crore on Sunday, bringing its total domestic earnings to Rs 89.6 crore.

Fateh tells a story of courage, resilience, and the battle against cybercrime, drawing inspiration from real-life events during the COVID-19 pandemic. Notably, Sonu Sood became a household name during the pandemic due to his widespread humanitarian efforts, helping thousands of stranded migrant workers return home during the nationwide lockdown. The film also boasts strong performances by Vijay Raaz, Jacqueline Fernandes, and Naseeruddin Shah in key roles.
