Legendary actor Mohanlal's highly anticipated film, Empuraan, is breaking records even before it hits theaters on March 27. The pre-sales on opening day have already topped Rs 10 crore, making it the highest for a Malayalam film overseas, according to Sainik, an industry tracker.
Sacniik also mentioned, “The film is having a never-before-seen mass hysteria in the advance sales in the international market."
The advance booking in the domestic market is getting a good response from the audience, especially in Kerala.
Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and written by Murali Gopy, 'L2: Empuraan' is now officially the most expensive Malayalam movie ever made. The trailer, which dropped ahead of schedule, has already racked up over 4 million views.
About Empuraan
Empuraan is the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Lucifer, featuring Mohanlal, Manju Warrier, and Tovino Thomas in leading roles. For this sequel, Mohanlal is working with director Prithviraj Sukumaran again for the third time. Produced by Aashirvad Cinemas and Sree Gokulam Movies, the film is set to release on March 27 in Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Tamil.
The star cast includes Mohanlal, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Abhimanyu Singh, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Saniya Iyappan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, among others.
