Vicky Kaushal’s historical drama Chhaava has officially become his highest-grossing film, surpassing Uri: The Surgical Strike with a staggering box office collection of approximately ₹242.25 crore. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film opened to a strong response and sustained momentum, aided by positive word-of-mouth and its tax-free status in several states.
In its first week, Chhaava amassed ₹219.25 crore and continued its strong run into the second week, collecting ₹23 crore on Friday. The film saw a steady upward trend, especially on Shivaji Jayanti, when it earned ₹32 crore. With its remarkable box office performance, Chhaava has now overtaken Uri as Kaushal’s most successful film to date.
Kaushal’s portrayal of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj has received widespread acclaim, further boosting the film’s success. The movie has also garnered attention at the national level, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledging its cultural significance.
