Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava continues its dominant streak at the box office, closing in on the Rs 500 crore mark domestically. The film has already broken third-weekend records previously held by Pushpa 2 and Baahubali 2.

Once dismissed by skeptics as a genre no longer commercially viable, historical films are being proven wrong by Chhaava, which has been unstoppable since its release. With its gripping narrative and powerful storytelling, the film is raking in impressive numbers, even as it heads into its third week in theatres.

Despite being in its 20th day of release, Chhaava is showing no signs of slowing down. With little to no competition in theatres, it's expected to maintain strong collections in the upcoming weeks, potentially breaking into the Rs 200 crore club.

Having already crossed the Rs 400 crore threshold in just two weeks, Chhaava is now on track to achieve another significant milestone: crossing the Rs 500 crore mark at the domestic box office. According to Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 5.5 crore on Tuesday, bringing its total to Rs 472 crore, with expectations to surpass the Rs 500 crore mark by the weekend.

The film also set a new record for third-weekend collections, earning a staggering Rs 60.10 crore, surpassing previous records set by Pushpa 2 (Rs 60 crore), Stree 2 (Rs 48.75 crore), and even Baahubali 2 (Rs 42.55 crore). With this achievement, Chhaava has secured its spot as the highest-grossing film during its third weekend.

More than just Vicky Kaushal’s biggest hit, Chhaava is rapidly climbing the ranks of all-time Indian blockbusters. It has already surpassed earnings from Dangal and Sanju, and now holds the eighth position among the highest-earning Hindi films of all time. If you exclude dubbed films like Pushpa 2 and Baahubali 2, Chhaava is now the sixth highest-grossing Hindi film in history.

The film, which boasts a stellar ensemble cast including Diana Penty, Neil Bhoopalam, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta, was released globally on February 14, 2025. Initially slated to release alongside Pushpa 2, the makers wisely postponed its launch to avoid direct competition.

With audiences flocking to theatres and critics praising its storytelling, Chhaava continues to set new benchmarks for success in Indian cinema.
