Beer Biceps

Mumbai Police has summoned podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia to appear before them on Saturday (February 15, 2025) as part of an ongoing investigation into his controversial remarks on a YouTube show. Allahbadia, who was initially asked to appear on Thursday, failed to do so, prompting fresh summons.
On Friday (February 14, 2025), teams from both the Mumbai and Assam police visited his residence in Versova, only to find the flat locked, an official confirmed.
Controversial Remarks and Public Backlash
Allahbadia, known for his popular YouTube channel 'BeerBiceps,' made contentious comments about parents and sex on comedian Samay Raina's now-deleted show, India's Got Latent. The remarks triggered widespread outrage and led to multiple complaints.
In response to the uproar, the Mumbai police launched an inquiry, initially summoning Allahbadia to the Khar police station on Thursday. After he failed to appear, a second summons was issued, requiring his presence on Friday. However, when Allahbadia requested that his statement be recorded at his residence, the police denied his request.
Assam Police Also Pursuing Inquiry
Meanwhile, an Assam police team is also seeking to question Allahbadia following a complaint filed in Guwahati, alleging that the podcaster promoted obscenity through the online show. The case, registered on Monday, names multiple individuals, including comedians Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija.
On Thursday (February 13), the Assam police team met Maharashtra Cyber Department officials to coordinate their investigation.
Police Statements and Ongoing Probes
The Mumbai police, alongside the cyber department, are conducting separate investigations into the matter. They have also summoned Samay Raina, asking him to appear within the next five days.
So far, the Khar police station has recorded statements from eight individuals, including Makhija, Chanchlani, and Allahbadia’s manager, following a complaint filed by a BJP functionary. However, no FIR has been registered in Mumbai yet.
Additionally, on Friday, police recorded the statement of Pratham Sagar, the video editor of India’s Got Latent. He was questioned briefly and then allowed to leave.
The Maharashtra Cyber Department has also summoned at least 50 individuals connected to the show, including participants, to record their statements. Among those who have already complied is actor and television personality Raghu Ram, who was a judge on the show.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to gather evidence and testimonies related to the case.
