Director Anil Ravipudi's latest film, "Sankranthiki Vasthunam," featuring Venkatesh in the lead role, has achieved significant box office success since its release on January 14. Despite the film's positive reception, Ravipudi has acknowledged areas where the film could have been improved.
In a recent interview with a regional channel, Ravipudi noted that the second half of the film lacked sufficient comedic elements. He expressed that incorporating more humor, particularly by utilizing the character Bullinaidu more extensively, could have enhanced the film's appeal. Ravipudi highlighted the importance of balancing entertainment with other narrative elements to maintain audience engagement.
Audience feedback has echoed Ravipudi's sentiments, with many viewers pointing out that while the first half of the film was rich in humor, the latter part shifted focus towards action sequences, leading to a decrease in comedic content. Despite this, the film has been praised for its overall entertainment value.
Financially, "Sankranthiki Vasthunam" has performed exceptionally well, amassing approximately Rs 276 crores in gross collections to date. The film's theatrical run continues, and it is anticipated to reach the Rs 300 crore milestone. This level of success is notable for a family entertainer and marks a significant achievement for Venkatesh, who had not previously reached the Rs 150 crore mark with his earlier films.
The film features Aishwarya Rajesh and Meenakshi Chowdhury as the female leads, with supporting performances by Muralidhar Goud, Master Revanth, Srinivasa Reddy, Saikumar, Srinivas Avasarala, and Naresh. Produced by Dil Raju and Sirish under the Sri Venkateswara Creations banner, the music composed by Bheem Cecilio has also been a contributing factor to the film's success.
