Today, the Centre for innovation incubation Research and Entrepreneurship (C-i2 RE) is grandly inaugurated by the honorable Minister for IT, Industries and Municipal Administration & Urban Development, Manyasri K.T. Rama Rao at Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science (KITS) Warangal campus said by the principal prof. K. Ashoka Reddy.
On this occasion minister for IT, Industries and Municipal Administration & Urban Development, Sri K.T. Rama Rao highlighted that Centre for i2 square RE will promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the student community. It is established by the proud management of KITSW to inculcate the research and innovative skills among the students, faculty, and young researchers. They have invested more than 5 crores of rupees for the necessary infrastructural facilities. It is also helpful to design the live projects for the benefit of society.
The main objective of the innovation center is to face the latest Engineering, technological and entrepreneurship challenges in the 21st Century and to adopt advanced technologies. KITS Warangal is known for its quality education and ethical behaviour of students in their place of work. KTR Sir appreciated the efforts & investment of the KITSW management for the benefit of students. The centre stands as a "jewel in the crown" of KITS Warangal. I wish the students to make use of these facilities and come out with flying colours.
He concluded that "Success is when your signature changes into an autograph".
According to the principal prof. K. Ashoka Reddy institute has incorporated i2 RE culture into its course curriculum. The Centre for i2 RE includes five major research divisions which are.
1. AICTE IDEA Lab
2. Institution Innovation Council (IIC)
3. MSME (Micro Small Medium Enterprise) Business Incubation
4. Entrepreneurship Development Cell (IDC) and
5. National Innovation Start-up Policy (NISP).
The AICTE IDEA Lab was sanctioned by AICTE- New Delhi with a total grant of ₹ 1.23 crores. As part of this project State- of-the art machinery and equipment were installed to train the students to make them industry ready and to motivate them towards entrepreneurship. Disruptive technologies like 3D printing, 3D scanning, Computer Numerical Control (CNC) wood router, CO2 laser cutter, advanced Printed Circuit Board (PCB) lab were brought to the use of students and researchers.
On inaugural event, former MP, Rajya Sabha and KITSW chairman, Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao gave the presidential remarks. Our institute has an MSME Business Incubation grant received ₹ 27 lakhs from Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India for two projects. IIC has achieved a Three(3) star rating by Ministry of Education Govt. of India. He also stressed on our core areas as Knowledge, skill, quality, Innovation Incubation Research and Entrepreneurship and core values are Attitude, academic ethics, academic integrity which have been maintained constantly in our institute from the beginning to make our students ethically strong and technologically superior. Implementing Outcome Based Education through hybrid mode of teaching for active learning.
In this inaugural event KITSW management members, Treasurer Sri P. Narayana Reddy, Husnabad constituency MLA & KITSW Additional secretary Vodithala Sateesh Kumar, Head, Centre for i2 square RE and Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Srikath Pabba, all the HoDs, all the Deans, faculty, staff, and students were present.
