ISB, US consulate hold meet on Indo-Pacific cooperation

Hyderabad The Indian School of Business, in partnership with the US Consulate General Hyderabad, organised a two-day conference on 'Roadmap for Indo-Pacific Regional Cooperation in a Post Covid-19 World Order. The conference's objective was to engage the think tanks to have diplomatic dialogues on development to arrive at a roadmap for stronger Indo-Pacific cooperation in the context of the current global events and uncertain times.
The conference touched upon themes, vis-a-vis the latest developments – geopolitics, security partnerships, rules-based maritime, climate change resilience, alliances and partnerships, economic prosperity, education, healthcare, and people-to-people connect. These themes were explored by analysing the evolving power dynamics in the world, covering both soft power and hard power.
Jennifer Larson, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for India, US Dept. of State, put forward her vision for a connected, prosperous, and rule-based Indo-Pacific region. She highlighted the deepening of relations with India following the Quad talks and an upcoming round of the 2+2 talks amongst the respective foreign ministers.
Joel Reifman, US Consul General Hyderabad, shared that the purpose of this conference was to mobilise partnerships across various fields aiming to ensure a peaceful and prosperous Indo-Pacific region, where rule-based orders are respected by all.
GV Prasad, Co-Chairman and Managing Director, Dr Reddy's Laboratories, emphasised the need for collaborations to navigate and address the global issues of pandemic and climate change.
