HPS to raise Rs17cr from alumni

Hyderabad: Hyderbad Public School (HPS) on Wednesday announced to host the Grand Finale of its year-long centenary celebrations. HPS alumni Satya Nadella, Shantanu Narayan, Prem Watsa and many others will be part of the 50 events planned for the centenary finale. The finale, to be inaugurated on December 19, will be held from December 24 to 27, 2023.
During the four-day Finale a fundraising initiative will be held to raise Rs17.5 crore for a state-of-the-art green field multi-utility sports center designed by architect Hafeez Contractor. This is part of the school’s Vision 2050 to raise Rs150 crore for the development plans.
J Gusti Noria, president, HPS Society, said: “The Grand Finale of the HPS’s centenary year is a testament to our last 100 years of legacy, leadership, and excellence. We look forward to the entire HPS family getting together and rejoicing this momentous occasion.”
The president further informed that the Grand Finale week will kickstart with HPS Centenary Dinner, an exclusive limited seating Fund Raising Dinner, on December 24, 2023. The dinner is set to be attended by distinguished guests and alumni from around the world with the purpose of raising funds for the HPS Centenary Sports Center.
The school is in the process of constructing an Innovation Centre at a cost of Rs10 crore, similar to T-Hub to foster entrepreneurship and innovation culture at school level, funded by HPS alumni. The faculty for this facility, spread across 15,000 sft, will promote hands-on learning experience in robotics and AI.
From December 25 to 27, the campus will witness over 15,000 people representing HPS participate. Some of the events include HPS Carnival, HPS Museum - The Echoes of Time, HPS StartX - an Entrepreneurship Summit, Sports Reunion, The Centenary Golf Tournament at the Hyderabad Golf Club, regal Vintage Car Showcase, Speed Networking session, learning zone with Book Readings, Panel Discussions, Workshops, the depositing of a Time capsule, performance by the “The Bartenders”, a Centenary Alumni Reunion dinner along with “Best Kept Secret” playing live, Art Competition, Photography Competition, a mock Parliament session. The finale concert will be held on December 27, 2023 wherein musical trio – Shankar Ehsaan Loy will be performing.
