Bitta calls youth to come forward to fight against terrorism

Mumbai Mar 20 Maninderjeet Singh Bitta, Chairman, All-India Anti-Terrorist Front and Ex-President, Indian Youth Congress, has given a call to youth to join hands to fight against terrorism.
He was addressing the inaugural session of APOGEE, the 39th Edition of the Technical Festival of BITS PILANI, PILANI CAMPUS themed 'THE DIGITIZED RENAISSANCE' as its chief guest. The two-day extravaganza will conclude tomorrow.
"Since the age of 7 years, I had taken an oath along with my grandfather to establish harmony between Hindu Muslim, Sikh and Christian religions on the historical grounds of Jaliawala Baag," he said.
Bitta expressed his concern over the episode which took place on January 26 when few unscrupulous elements did mischievous act in their unsuccessful bid to dishonour with the national flag, The Tricolour in New Delhi.
"Did we protect the country since Independence? It is a moot question which continues to haunt us today," he said.
He gave the examples of ideals set by celebrities like Bhagat Singh, Kalpana Chawla and the former President, APJ Abdul Kalam.
He praised the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi for his efforts in the direction of curbing the menace of terrorism and freeing Kashmir from the clutches of terrorists. Also, he praised the present government at the Centre for providing freedom to the citizens of the country. He urged the youth to oppose if they see something wrong.
He also praised the PM for changing the 500-year old history of the country by putting the foundation stone for Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya.
Though he was quick to add that Note Ban has created problems to the people of the nation.
He said that the meaning of politics should be nationalism, though it will take some time for the dream to get realised.
Meanwhile, Dr Souvik Bhattacharyya, Vice Chancellor, BITS Pilani in his address said, "We have seen unprecedented pandemic challenges for past 12 months gets tough, it is the tough which gets going."
So far Rs 220 crore research grant has come for the institute in the current fiscal so far which is the highest such amount, he added.
