Hyderabad: OUR Food, an AgriTech startup, has signed a MoU with the Telangana government to set up 20,000 micro food processing units across the State.
This agreement will generate employment around 1 lakh for rural people. The food processing units will cover the eight major crops grown in the State. The agritech startup will provide end-to-end solutions for setting up the processing units. They partnered with financial instiutions to facilitate the setting up of units. The startup has launched its own brand of products that are processed at the units. The State government will support the startup by identifying the beneficiaries through SC, ST, BC corporations and all the tribal welfare corporations.
"Telangana government always gives high priority to food processing units as there is growth in the agriculture production in the State during last few years. This agreement will enable the farm level processing, thereby benefiting farmers and unemployed youth," said Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, IT and industries, Telangana.
Our Food proven track record, technical advisory expertise, and the support they have brought to this project made them our partner of choice in this journey, he added. "We have currently set up 1,000 units across nine States including Telangana.
Our Food aim is to give sustainable marketing solution to the farming community while providing high quality products to the consumer," said Balareddy, CEO, Our Food. The processing unit equipment would be manufactured at company's state-of-the-art facility in Zaheerabad, promoting the Make in Telangana initiative.
