RINL inks pact with Sankar Foundation, Visakha Eye Hospital
AS part of Corporate Environment Responsibility, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL) sanctioned a financial support of Rs 20 lakh (Rs 10 lakh each to Visakha Eye Hospital Trust and Sankar Foundation) for performing cataract surgeries, free of cost to 600 poor and needy patients.

Visakhapatnam: AS part of Corporate Environment Responsibility, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL) sanctioned a financial support of Rs 20 lakh (Rs 10 lakh each to Visakha Eye Hospital Trust and Sankar Foundation) for performing cataract surgeries, free of cost to 600 poor and needy patients.
At a function held on Saturday, RINL-VSP, V Santa Kumar, Chief General Manager (F&A) spoke on the need for such initiatives. K Satya Narayana, CGM (HR and CSR) signed the MoU on behalf of RINL-VSP, with Sankar Foundation and Visakha Eye Hospital Trust and dwelt on the background of the project and the company's contribution to treat cataract which is a major cause of blindness, among the poor and needy patients through surgery and the role of both the hospitals/trusts in helping to achieve the objectives.
KBN Manimala, Managing Trustee & CEO, Sankar Foundation outlined the initiatives taken by their foundation and the contribution of RINL as a corporate in addressing cataract issues.
The project is expected to be of immense benefit to poor and the needy persons residing in Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts.
