Mumbai: The MPC meeting will now begin from February 8, the RBI said in a notification. It was earlier scheduled to take place from Monday, but was rescheduled to Tuesday after Maharashtra declared Monday as public holiday, as a mark of respect to Bharat Ratna Kumari Lata Mangeshkar. The MPC meeting is being held from February 8 to 10, RBI said in a statement.
This announcement is made under Section 45ZI (4) of the Reserve Bank of India Act 1934, it added.
Further, there will be no transactions and settlements in Government securities (primary and secondary), foreign exchange, money markets and Rupee Interest Rate Derivatives on February 7. Settlement of all outstanding transactions will accordingly get postponed to the next working day i.e., February 8, said the RBI statement.
Transactions under Liquidity Adjustment Facility (LAF) Fixed rate Reverse Repo and MSF operations, for which the second leg settlement date was February 7, will now mature on the next working day i.e., February 8. Further, the daily LAF Fixed rate Reverse Repo and MSF windows will be available as usual on February 7, it added.
