Visakhapatnam: Enquiry has started to ascertain the causes that led to an explosion in the reactor of Tyche Industries, a pharmaceutical company located near Kakinada which killed two and injured four workers on Thursday.
The government has directed the management to pay ex-gratia to the deceased and bear the medical expenses of those admitted to the hospital.
Agriculture Minister K Kannababu, who visited the accident spot and interacted with the officials, said the compensation amount to the bereaved families and the injured workers would be finalised soon.
The Factories Department and AP Pollution Control Board have started a probe to ascertain the circumstances which caused the reactor blast. The industry has units at Sarpavaram junction and Tanuku and an R&D centre in Hyderabad. It is involved in manufacturing and R&D for APIs, intermediates, nutraceuticals and fine and speciality chemicals.
