An MoU has been signed between National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCCBM) and NTPC for preliminary structure inspection.
The agreement was formalised at the Head of TS (TS- Technical Services) meet organised for two days by NTPC Simhadri in association with Station Engineering, Raipur.
The two-day event had a detailed and threadbare discussion on the impact of corrosion on various steel and concrete structures across the NTPC plants particularly those who are in the vicinity of seashores and the means of control and protection, a Simhadri release stated.
The meet saw the presence of Director Projects UK Bhattacharya, who joined virtually, KS Sundaram (Executive Director to CMD), Manish Kumar Srivastava (Executive Director, Engineering), R Sarangpani (Chief General Manager, Station Engineering) and Sanjay Kumar Sinha (Head of Project, Simhadri).
Around 60 delegates from pan NTPC stations and NETRA (NTPC Energy Technology Research Alliance) attended the meet and presented on the topic ‘Corrosion and its Protection’.
Dignitaries from external institutions like NCCBM, NML (National Metallurgical Laboratory), CECRI (Central electro chemical research Institute) also attended.
