Jagan to launch house patta distribution in Vizag on April 28

Visakhapatnam: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will launch a massive house site patta distribution scheme for the poor in Pendurthi constituency near here on April 28.
After overcoming legal hurdles, pattas will be distributed in a single mega layout developed after acquiring 300 acres under Land Pooling Scheme (LPS), Minister for IT and Industries Gudivada Amarnath said on Sunday.
He told reporters along with Pendurthi MLA A Adeep Raj that each beneficiary will get 55 square yards of land. In the first phase 9,000 pattas will be given. The State Government is taking up 78 layouts across the State necessitating 35 lakh tonne cement and 3.4 lakh tonne steel. At a separate meeting, Housing Minister Jogi Ramesh said 1.43 lakh women have been identified in Visakhapatnam for distributing house sites. He said direction has been given to officials to complete construction of one lakh houses by May-end. Till date, 24,000 houses have been completed.
The Minister said they will spend Rs13,105 crore for construction of houses for urban and rural poor during current financial year as per decision taken by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
