Bengaluru: The delivery and e-commerce logistics firm Delhivery has acquired Bengaluru-headquartered Spoton Logistics to bolster its B2B (business to business) capabilities.

This acquisition has come at a time when the company is planning to go public in the near future and is likely to file the draft prospectus with the regulator soon.

Post this acquisition, Delivery's position on the B2B space is expected to be strengthened. The company already has a leadership position in the ecommerce logistics segment in the B2C space.

"This development is consistent with our objective of being growth-oriented and building scale in each of our business lines," Sahil Barua, chief executive officer of Delhivery, said.

"Over the last 10 years, Delhivery has established a leading position in B2C logistics, and now by combining our truckload business with Spoton's, we will be on the path to the same position in B2B express as well," he added.

Samara Capital and Xponentia, which acquired Spoton from IEP in 2018 for about Rs 550 crore, are managing this transaction.

Last month, Delhivery raised $100 million worth funds from global delivery services giant FedEx Express, a subsidiary of the global logistics giant FedEx Corporation. Both companies have also entered into a long-term commercial agreement following the transaction.
