Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy visited his home constituency Kodangal for the first time since taking oath as the CM. He was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Speaker G. Prasad Kumar, Congress MLAs of the undivided Mahabubnagar district, to Kosigi.

The CM launched a slew of projects and development programmes in infrastructure, education and health sectors in Kosgi, totalling an impressive Rs. 4,369.143 crores.

At the forefront of this is the inauguration of the Narayanapet-Kodangal Lift Irrigation Scheme, sanctioned on May 23, 2014. A monumental venture valued at Rs. 2,945 crores the Scheme is likely to provide the irrigation and drinking water needs to the ten drought-prone mandals of Narayanpeta, Makthal and Kodangal assembly constituencies. The earlier BRS government had cancelled and linked the project with the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS).

The Narayanapet-Kodangal Lift Irrigation Scheme is set to bring significant relief to farmers and residents in the Narayanpet and Kodangal constituencies of the Narayanpet and Vikarabad districts. The scheme, aimed at irrigating an ayacut of one lakh acres, will also provide drinking water to villages along the route. It plans to achieve this by lifting 7.10 TMC (Thousand Million Cubic feet) of water from the Budpur Balancing Reservoir under Lift-I of the RBLIS (Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Scheme). The proposed new ayacut includes approximately 53,745 acres in Kodangal, 25,783 acres in Makthal, and 20,472 acres in Narayanpet. This development is expected to significantly boost agriculture in the region and improve water access for local communities.

The CM also initiated the foundation laying of an R&B guest house in Kodangal, with an allocation of Rs. 6.8 crores and the commencement of the construction of single-lane to double-lane roads, along with the foundation laying of numerous bridges throughout the Kodangal Constituency, which is estimated to require an investment of Rs. 344.5 crores.

Recognizing the imperative need for connectivity in remote tribal areas, the CM has allocated Rs. 27.886 crores for laying roads, particularly focusing on regions in the Vikarabad district that lack BT road facilities.

Revanth Reddy has also inaugurated a tribal welfare hostel (Rs. 5 crores), a permanent establishment for the Minority Residential School (Rs. 25 crores), CC roads (Rs. 40 crores), and the establishment of Daulatabad Junior College for Rs. 7.13 crores.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister has laid the foundation stones for significant educational endeavours such as the Bomraspet Junior College (Rs. 7.13 crores), Mahatma Jyoti Rao Phule BC Residential School/College at Neetur Village, Daultabad Mandal (Rs. 25 crores), and the Government Engineering College at the heart of Kosgi mandal, with an investment of Rs. 30 crores.

In the healthcare sector, Revanth Reddy has initiated projects totalling Rs. 224.50 crores, including establishing a medical college, nursing college, physiotherapy college, and 220-bed hospital.

He also inaugurated the foundation laying of HLBS and R/Fs approach road works in Kodangal Constituency, a project valued at Rs. 213 crores. Furthermore, a new 33/11 KV sub-station in Hasnabad village in Dudyal mandal has been initiated with a budget of Rs. 3.99 crores.
