Addressing the media, Minister Chelluboina Venugopala Krishna revealed crucial decisions taken by the government towards fulfilling the aspirations of the people.
In a significant development, the cabinet approved the regularisation of 10,000 contract employees who have completed five years of service by June 2, 2014. The YSRCP Government approved setting up a new 12th PRC for government employees and implementing 2.73 per cent DA with arrears from January 1, 2022. The HRA for those working in district headquarters has been hiked from 12 per cent to 16 per cent. Additionally, the Government has also proposed a new pension scheme for government employees in the name of a Guaranteed Pension Scheme, under the title AP Guaranteed Pension Bill 2023 replacing the contributory pension scheme (CPS). This new bill has been drafted in a novel way to gradually increase the Daily Allowance (DA) for government employees without reducing the 50 per cent post-retirement pension.
