Visakhapatnam:Claiming to be indigenously designed and manufactured, smart e-bike company Austhraa Motors Private Limited, incorporated last year, has announced plans to introduce more variants in the near future and start overseas operations later to explore the huge potential for e-vehicles as part of its focus on a decarbonised economy. The company was floated by experienced engineers from Visakhapatnam and led by Raja Pradeep, MD and Co-founder, Karthik Raju Founder and CEO, Mohan Kalki Dhuli, Director and COO; Laxman Lingam, Director and Production Manager and Pradeep Kondeti, CRDO and Director.
The company is manufacturing premium e-bikes with its innovative and in-house proprietarily developed indigenous technology in Visakhapatnam with a vision to become the world’s most innovative, smart and sustainable mobility solutions company and a mission to deliver one million smart electric cycles by 2025 help achieve a net zero world with faster, efficient, smooth and low-cost transportation..
Karthik told Bizz Buzz on Tuesday that Austhraa is the most innovative electric mobility startup. It is accelerated at world’s largest startup incubator T-Hub and incubated at AP’s largest incubator Ā-Hub as well as mentored by Wadhwani Foundation and APInnovation Society (APIS).
Austhraa’s solution weapons are aimed at solving five major problems faced by society namely: air pollution, high petrol prices, carbon emissions, unemployment and traffic congestion. After launching two variants including one for carrying cargo a few months ago, the firm is planning to produce 20,000 e-bikes in the next 10 to 12 months. It has dealers in Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh and is planning to open a mega franchise in Hyderabad in a month. As of today, two smart e-bikes (Rifle T9 and Carry) have been launched by the company in the ma rket and they started selling them from March. The company has plans to sell its nine e-bike models in the UK, the US, Europe, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Africa in the next six months.
Rifle T9 and Carry e-bikes belong to two most important categories. These two bikes have 250 watt BLDC motor, smart display, PAS sensor, AC charger and detachable lithium-Ion battery made with special metal casing.
Rifle T9 has patented frame design-the first of its kind in the country. This e-bike can travel up to 70 km at a top speed of 25 kmph. When fully charged, it takes about four hours.
The e-bike is originally priced at Rs 44,990 excluding GST and transportation. As a limited period special festival sale offer, this Rifle e-bike is currently on offer for Rs 37,990 including GST and free door delivery through Austhraa’s own website.
The Carry e-bike, the company says, is the country’s first high-mileage cargo e-bike, which can travel up to 120kms at a top speed of 25 KMPH on a full charge. It takes about 3 hour 30 minutes to charge the battery by using an AC 6Amps charger which costs only Rs 4.50. It is currently on offer for around Rs 39,990 only including GST and door delivery Pan India as a special festival sale offer.
Karthik said their bikes have advantages like longest range, detachable battery, safest battery in easily carryable special waterproof metal casing, highest warranties of three years on battery, two years on motor and eight years on frame with affordable price, best in class after sales service, attractive designs, superior technology, own manufacturing and total quality management.
Austhraa aims to become India’s most innovative e-bikes company with the broadest product basket addressing all customer segments. Currently, the firm has nine e-bike models servicing all categories viz: city ride, cargo, three wheel loaders, solar powered self-charging tricycle loader, female exclusive, sports, tricycle, foldable and e-bike ambulance, which will be launched one after another very shortly. “We are a purpose-driven, consumer empathetic and customer centric EV mobility solutions company,” he stated.
