Hyderabad: Global contract research, development, and manufacturing services organisation, Syngene International Limited on Thursday announced the expansion of its existing research campus at Genome Valley in Hyderabad. The Company envisages an investment of up to Rs 788 crore to develop the expanded campus to its full potential, including the creation of up to 1,000 jobs over the next five years.

Syngene’s existing research center at Genome Valley was inaugurated in 2020 with a 52,000 sft facility. Now, the facility has grown four times to 2 lakh sft housing more than 900 scientists. The research carried out on the site focuses on discovery chemistry and biology, primarily for the global pharmaceutical industry. Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao had then also inaugurated the Protac laboratory and a Central Compound Management facility. On the ground-breaking ceremony, KTR said, “Syngene’s expansion is a testament to the opportunities and support that our State provides. This expansion aligns with our vision to attract and nurture top talent, drive innovation and foster economic development.”

Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Chairperson, Syngene International Limited; Jayesh Ranjan, Telangana Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce; Venkata Narsimha Reddy, Vice CMD, TSIIC; Shakthi Nagappan, CEO, Telangana Life Sciences and senior leaders from Syngene were present during the event.
