Mumbai, Mar 10 In recognition of International Women's Day on March 8, 2023, fibi, a news and content website for and about influencers and content creators, has launched the #ZipIt campaign to combat the online sexual harassment faced by women influencers.

Women influencers, who have become important voices in the digital space, are often subjected to various forms of online harassment, including sexual harassment. They often get sleezy comments like “Hey sexy’, “Will you sleep with me” or more and sometimes it goes as far as getting dirty, obscene pictures in their DMs. The #ZipIt campaign aims to raise awareness of this issue and empower women to speak up against it. #ZipIt has the literal meaning of zip it and keep it in your pants, as well as, zip it and stop posting lewd remarks.

As part of the campaign, fibi has partnered with several prominent women influencers and is sharing their stories of online harassment and encouraging their followers to join the conversation. The website is also speaking to leading cyber safety experts and lawyers to share what steps women can take when they face such issues. It also engaged with mental health professionals and shared tips that women can use to deal with this trauma.

Talking to Bizz Buzz, Pankaj Sharma, Cofounder and Editor-in-chief at fibi says, “We believe that every woman has the right to feel safe and respected online, and that is why we are launching the #ZipIt campaign. By empowering women influencers to speak out against online sexual harassment and providing them with the tools they need to protect themselves, we hope to create a safer and more supportive digital space for women."

The #ZipIt campaign has been receiving a great response in the form of women influencers holding placards and asking creeps out there to stay away from spoiling women’s online experience.
