Mumbai Police unable to reach Ranveer Allahbadia; Samay Raina given extension

Mumbai police are struggling to contact popular podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia as his phone remains switched off, while comedian Samay Raina has been given time till March 10 to appear before them in an ongoing investigation.
The controversy erupted after Allahbadia made offensive remarks about parents and sex on Raina’s YouTube show India’s Got Latent, which has since been deleted. His comments led to widespread outrage and multiple complaints.
According to police officials, the Khar police have been unable to reach Allahbadia, who is known for his BeerBiceps YouTube channel. Meanwhile, Raina’s lawyer approached senior police officers requesting an extension, citing that his client was currently in the US. The police accepted the request and granted Raina time until March 10 to record his statement.
Allahbadia had earlier asked for his statement to be recorded at his residence, but the police rejected the request. On Friday, officers visited his apartment in Versova but found it locked.
So far, Mumbai police have recorded statements from eight individuals, including influencers Makhija, Chanchalani, and Allahbadia’s manager. The case was initiated following a complaint by a BJP functionary.
Despite the ongoing investigation, no FIR has been registered yet. Meanwhile, Maharashtra Cyber has summoned around 50 individuals linked to the show to record their statements. Actor and TV personality Raghu Ram, who was on the judges' panel of India’s Got Latent, appeared before the agency on Thursday to give his statement.
The investigation is ongoing.
