Security concerns arose on ICICI Bank's iMobile Pay app when customers reported accessing other customers' credit card details. This flaw exposed sensitive information such as full card numbers, expiry dates, and CVVs, potentially enabling unauthorized transactions.

Sumanta Mandal, founder of TechnoFino, highlighted this as a significant security lapse. The issue stemmed from a glitch affecting approximately 17,000 newly issued credit cards, mistakenly linked to incorrect users within the digital channels.

In response to the incident, ICICI Bank promptly took action, blocking the compromised cards and initiating the issuance of replacements. Additionally, access to credit card details on the iMobile Pay app was restricted as an immediate precautionary measure.

Customers affected by the glitch are advised to take proactive steps to safeguard their finances. Blocking and replacing the compromised cards is strongly recommended to mitigate potential risks. In the event of any financial loss, customers are urged to promptly contact the bank via customer care or internet banking channels. ICICI Bank assures affected customers of appropriate compensation for any documented financial losses resulting from the incident.

The bank's spokesperson emphasized that while the glitch affected a small fraction of their credit card portfolio, ensuring customer security remains their top priority.
