Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani has announced a major investment of $10 billion in US energy security and infrastructure projects, aiming to create up to 15,000 jobs in the United States. This significant commitment underscores the growing partnership between India and the US.

In his statement, Mr. Adani highlighted the Group's intent to leverage its global expertise for this massive investment. He also expressed optimism about the deepening relationship between the two nations.

Recently, former President Donald Trump made a stunning comeback by defeating Democrat Kamala Harris in the US presidential election. While Trump's victory has been viewed positively in India, concerns remain over his potential protectionist policies, which could lead to reciprocal tariffs on Indian goods.

"Congratulations Donald Trump. As the partnership between India and the United States deepens, the Adani Group is committed to leveraging its global expertise and invest $10 billion in US energy security and resilient infrastructure projects, aiming to create up to 15,000 jobs," Mr. Adani said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Last week, Mr. Adani congratulated Mr. Trump on his election victory, praising the resilience and tenacity of the American democratic process. "If there is one person on Earth who stands as the embodiment of unbreakable tenacity, unshakeable grit, relentless determination, and the courage to stay true to his beliefs, it is Donald Trump. Fascinating to see America's democracy empower its people and uphold the nation's founding principles. Congratulations to the 47th POTUS-elect," Mr. Adani had said in another post on X.

This investment announcement follows the India-US Strategic Clean Energy Partnership (SCEP) ministerial meeting held in September, convened by US Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm and Indian Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri in Washington, DC. The meeting emphasized the role of energy trade in supporting the national priorities of both countries.

The ministers acknowledged the progress made in accelerating the development and deployment of emerging clean energy technologies, advancing renewable energy deployment and reliable grid integration, promoting energy efficiency, and decarbonizing high-emission sectors such as industry, buildings, and transport.

The two nations also celebrated their collaboration on the new National Centre for Hydrogen Safety in India and their partnership in the second 'International Conference on Green Hydrogen' held earlier this month.
