FLO and YFLO honour women trailblazers at glittering Hyderabad business awards

Hyderabad: The FICCI Ladies Organization (FLO) and Young FICCI Ladies Organization (YFLO) jointly hosted the prestigious Hyderabad Business Awards, recognizing excellence in various industry sectors, including the male-dominated manufacturing field. The grand ceremony, held at the recently renovated British Residency in Women's College, Koti, witnessed the presentation of 20 awards across 10 categories, alongside 4 special awards, totalling 24 accolades in a dazzling evening event on Sunday.
Among the distinguished awardees were Anjum Babukhan, Vishaka Reddy, Sharada Lingaraju, and others, celebrated for their remarkable contributions to their respective domains. Furthermore, luminaries such as Abhikasha Bisht, IPS, Additional DG of Police, A Devasena, IAS, Commissioner of School Education, yoga expert Sharmila Hirendranath, and design professional Dinaz were honoured with prestigious awards for their outstanding achievements.
The awards spanned diverse categories encompassing Social Enterprise/Philanthropy, Sustainability, Education, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Wellness, Aesthetics and Beauty, Innovation and Technology, Art and Culture, and the Service Industry.
Ritu Shah, Chairperson of FICCI Ladies Organization (FLO), and Arthi Shah, Chairperson of Young FICCI Ladies Organization (YFLO), emphasized that these awards represent an annual initiative by FLO and YFLO. Minister Dr. Dansari Anasuya (Seethakka) for Panchayat Raj & Rural Development, Govt of Telangana, lauded the initiative, noting the significance of recognizing and honouring women-led businesses making substantial economic and social contributions.
Highlighting the continuing challenges faced by women in society, Minister Seethakka remarked on the importance of such awards as a means to boost self-confidence and recognize excellence in various fields. The event also witnessed the support and presence of eminent personalities like Ms Pinky Reddy, FLO's past National President, and Mr Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad.
The choice of the British Residency, famously known as the Koti Women's College, a historical monument now restored to its former glory, as the venue for this grand event reflects FLO and YFLO's commitment to revitalizing Telangana's heritage. The sprawling 42-acre campus considered the second-largest palace in Hyderabad after the iconic Falaknuma Palace, became the backdrop for this celebration of women entrepreneurs and their achievements.
Before the awards ceremony, a Rendezvous took place with the renowned Indian Filmmaker, Fashion Designer, Poet, and Artist duo Meera & Muzaffar Ali. The evening also featured a mesmerizing ballet named 'Huma,' directed by Muzaffar Ali. It portrayed the legendary bird Huma, known for its wish-fulfilling abilities, through a captivating blend of poetry, music, dance, costumes, and stage decor.
The event concluded on a high note with a soulful performance by Sufi Singer Adil Hussaini, marking the culmination of an evening celebrating the entrepreneurial spirit and cultural richness, reverberating with applause and recognition for women leaders and their remarkable accomplishments.
