The government calls Vizag the IT destination of AP; how to make Vizag a vibrant city. The first one - I request IT to consider the government market. IT is the enabler service, and the government is indulging in giving smartphones to Asha workers, all volunteers, to provide health or education services. There is a huge market in hardware and software procurement. Second - Vizag is flourishing in all sectors like pharma, naval, fishing, etc., and every industry involves IT.

The third one is "skilling", AP is number one in providing IT, sector employees. So there is enough talent pool, we need to concentrate on making them industry-ready. We cannot depend on the government for this, and I promise to fill this gap and train them and make them industry-ready. Hyderabad as the capital of AP, that needs to be changed; Vizag is no less.

Murali Krishna Rambhatla: Director, Bentley Systems

Mr Murali gave a callback to the AP natives who left the motherland. He said nothing would change if the AP residents did not return to their birthplace. We should concentrate on the skill gap, or else IT will become an incompetent talent instead of Information Technology.

Information Technology is just a tool. We need to roll up our sleeves and work on developing ourselves and doing what we are unable to do. Skill building and skill gaps are something we should work on.

2nd session on IT and SW concludes

The Bizz Buzz Business Conclave by the Hans India concludes its 2nd session on IT and SW. All the panelists delivered their valuable suggestions and elaborated on the opportunities of Vizag city to be emerged as an IT hub.

Sreedhar Kosaraju: MD - Nimaisoft Systems Pvt. Ltd. & President of iTAAP

Mr Sreedhar thanked Bizz Buzz and The Hans India for organising the conclave. AP IT industry is in the ITES, i.e the three fourth of IT. We need to work on the BPM voice process, and coming to Technology, we need to develop the ecosystem further.

The crux of the entire ecosystem is talent availability. There is a 25 to 30 percent growth in the IT business during the pandemic. Tier 1 and 2 cities are getting opportunities for the companies. But there is a dearth of talent available for the Tier 2 companies. We need to improve the training system in the private and government sector.

Mohan Kancharla: Management Consultant & Author

Mr Mohan stressed harnessing technology and design thinking that help the product and services. He said design is evolving as a developing tool in business. If Vizag develops, all the towns around it will also grow. Inside out thinking is very important; let's not think about what we can do; let's focus on working on the unmet needs of the customer.

Mr Ram Prasad appreciated the efforts of The Hans India, and this should be the next revolution of AP and Vizag. We are focused on boosting the country's IT activities, specifically in export. We implement the government STPI and ESTP policies. We have 62 centres across the country, mostly in tier 2 cities. We are proud that India is known as the IT hub. Vizag is the enabler in AP, and it is always ready to support. It should raise in all aspects.

When the entrepreneurship bug bit us, we made two rules - We would not move out of Vizag, and we will not raise any funds. We have offices all around the world, Sri Lanka, Philipines etc. but head office is based here. We got 50% of staff from the Skill India programme and from rural areas. He said we hope this conclave makes Vizag a bigger player in the global market.
