Yogic Naturals began its journey in the 1990s as a little Seva. The various products and solutions by Yogic Naturals are connected by a common technology called Ayurveda Plant Nanocellopathy, a special system of conventional Ayurveda in which plant extracts in the form of serum oils are used externally on the skin to treat and prevent disease.
The revolutionary method basically treats illnesses by applying oil serums topically using a synergy of safe and effective natural herbal extracts. It is based on the precepts of the Sarangdhar Samhita, the first drug treatise, which dates back to the thirteenth century.
Amul S Bahl, Inventor, Director of Yogic Naturals in an exclusive interview with Hans Bizz Buzz, says, "By 2025, India's share of the $5 trillion global wellness market would be between 3-4 per cent. From the total contribution of less than 0.25 per cent of the entire global market, this is a significant increase. Today's millennial Indian spends an average of Rs 4,000 a month on fitness and wellness. Both the size of the tickets and the number of persons in this class will increase with this expenditure".
How do you see the future of the wellness market?
India is a country where there are many opportunities and constant competition, which makes life tedious and incessant. As a result, there are more cases of anxiety, depression, hypertension, and sleeplessness, which expedited the growth of the wellness sector.
By 2025, India's share of the $5 trillion global wellness market would be between 3 and 4 per cent. From the total contribution of less than 0.25 per cent of the entire global market, this is a significant increase. Today's millennial Indian spends an average of Rs 4,000 a month on fitness and wellness. Both the size of the tickets and the number of persons in this class will increase with this expenditure.
Furthermore, in India, the wellness sector has undergone a paradigm shift as more and more people choose Siddha or Ayurveda alternatives to conventional medicine. This is particularly prevalent in people over 40 who have a history of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and other conditions that require ongoing monitoring and therapy. They believe that ancient medical practices or therapies like Panchakarma, Ayurveda, or Ayurveda Plant Nanocellopathy are healthier options. The main factor driving conventional medicine's rising appeal is that it has little or no negative effects for them.
What are the challenges associated with wellness or Ayurveda industry?
The Indian wellness business has encountered a number of problems that need to be resolved. One of them is a severe lack of trained human resources and inadequate infrastructure. The ignorance of ayurveda in India is another crucial factor. The next generation should be made aware of how important yoga and Ayurvedic studies are to maintaining health and fitness by giving them substantial recognition in the educational field.
What is Ayurveda Nanocellopathy? What got you interested in this?
Necessity is the mother of invention. According to the Global Burden of Disease Study 2013, more than one-third of the world's population suffer from more than five ailments and the portion of number of lost years of healthy life due to illness increased from 21 per cent to 31 per cent (The Lancet, 2015). With 95.4 per cent of the population ailing, human wellness needs new thought, direction and vision. Backed by over 27 years of research, Yogic Naturals has brought to fore traditional Ayurvedic Science in a new and scientific avatar- Ayurveda Plant Nanocellopathy to help support the treatment and management of ailments such as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), osteoarthritis, viral infections, and diabetes, among others.
The basic underlying approach of 'Aarogya' (wellbeing) through Ayurveda forms the basis of "Ayurveda Plant Nanocellopathy" or "Ayurveda Nanocellopathy". Ayurveda Nanocellopathy utilises plant extract based oil serums externally through the skin as a key element of the body's homeostasis. Apart from being therapeutic, many such serums help prevent disease and suffering. This science is based on an understanding of the different plant/herbal oil/extracts and their synergistic combinations. These external polyherbal oil serums then act as quick acting therapeutics while supporting the critical processes in the body in achieving what it does naturally: homeostasis, balance, optimal health, and wellness. The science of Ayurveda Plant Nanocellopathy has been developed in a scientific manner with in-built mechanisms of safety. Using the dermal route for dispensation, this technology effectively amalgamates the aspects of nanoscience, dermal transfusion, and the traditional science of marma points.
What is the economic impact that a technology like Ayurveda Nanocellopathy can have?
To understand and realise the economic benefits that Ayurveda Nanocellopathy can have, let's take the help of data on economic burden of the following three ailments:
Osteoarthritis: According to the registry data of the Indian society of hip and knee surgeons (ISHKS), there are 15 to 20 million patients in India who might require knee replacement surgery. Rough estimates show that over 1,20,000 knee and about 70,000 hip replacement procedures take place in India every year. The average cost of a knee replacement and hospitalization is Rs 1,25,000 per patient amounting to Rs 15,000 crores. The economic burden of any form of Osteoarthritis is 0.25 per cent to 0.5 per cent of GDP.
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS): 1 in 5 women (20 per cent approx) in India suffer from PCOS. The economic burden of women suffering from PCOS in USA is $8 billion annually. The population of women suffering from PCOS in India are more in number. Apart from the financial burden, there is also a social stigma of being called a "Banjh" among other social taboos. A treatment for PCOS at a fraction of this cost can help prevent high expenditure and prevent them from getting impacted by social stigmas and societal pressures. When women of the house have more money in their hands, it will lead to an increase in domestic consumption and thereby adding to the growth of the economy.
Diabetes: There are approximately 6.8 crores diabetic patients in India. The average cost of diabetes management in India is Rs.10,000 per year. That is equated to 68,000 crore. Ayurveda Nanocellopathy assists in these conditions at a fraction of the cost leading to savings for the Indian households and adding thousands, if not lakhs, of crores to the Indian economy.
