Mumbai, Feb 10: Canara Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Madhavankutty G as the Chief Economist, effective January 2025. In his new role, Dr Madhavankutty will be responsible for providing strategic advice and inputs to the top management on domestic and global economic and financial sector developments.
Dr Madhavankutty brings with him over two decades of extensive experience in economic research, spanning the banking sector, large conglomerates, and academia. Prior to joining Canara Bank, he served as a senior economist at Bank of India, Aditya Birla Group, and the Times Group. His deep expertise in analyzing economic trends and formulating strategic insights will be invaluable in steering the bank’s economic outlook and contributing to informed decision-making.

Dr Madhavankutty holds a postgraduate degree in business economics and a doctorate in international economics. In addition to his professional achievements, he has been actively involved in academia as a visiting faculty member in economics at prestigious institutions such as NMIMS, IMT Nagpur, and KJ Somaiya Institute, Mumbai. He has also delivered guest lectures at renowned institutions like IITs and IIMs, further showcasing his commitment to the field of economics.
